The word is out!  Gehenna and Himmon’s one-week Halloween sale — October 25 through October 31 — has started today with prices slashed to 99 cents per publication (cf. October 16).  As anticipated, the sale will apply only to electronic editions, but even at that bargains abound.  Also, HINNOM MAGAZINE 003, scheduled to be out on Halloween day, cannot be included but, in Editor/Publisher C.P. Dunphey’s words, “to make up for this, the magazine will have a promo during November, leading up to the YEAR’S BEST TRANSHUMAN SF 2017 ANTHOLOGY.”

Titles that are included are HINNOM MAGAZINE issues 001 and 002, YEAR’S BEST BODY HORROR 2017 ANTHOLOGY (including *ahem* my story “Flesh”), GEHENNA CLASSICS:  H.P. LOVECRAFT Volume 1, and GEHENNA CLASSICS:  PHILIP K. DICK Volume 1.  Or to read it on G & H’s own site, including live links to all sale titles, press here — but remember, again, regular prices go back in effect after Halloween!

Tis the season, well into the run-up to Halloween.  Thus in today’s email, from C.P. Dunphey of Gehenna Publishing, [w]e are happy to announce that from the 25th-31st of October, we will discount all our titles to $0.99 on Amazon.  We may have some difficulty running the promotion for HINNOM MAGAZINE Issue 003, but rest assured, we will do our best to include the Halloween-themed issue in the lot.

We advise you to buckle up and prepare for one haunting Hallows’ Eve with these terrifying tales.

He says “all our titles” from which presumably not only the two already published issues of HINNOM MAGAZINE but YEAR’S BEST BODY HORROR 2017 ANTHOLOGY including my story “Flesh” (cf. September 25, et al.), among other books, will be included along with HINNOM’s third issue; also given the low sale price cited it’s most likely for electronic format, but no matter the details it sounds like a sale worth looking into, in less than ten days time.  More details here as they are learned.  And for those who can’t wait, YEAR’S BEST BODY HORROR 2017 ANTHOLOGY is available on Amazon now in both Kindle and paperback editions for which, to take a look, one can press here.

Also received from Bards and Sages Publishing, a galley proof for THE SOCIETY OF MISFIT STORIES, Volume 1, with its lead story by me, “By Force and Against the King’s Peace” (originally published in ALFRED HITCHCOCK’S MYSTERY MAGAZINE; see January 19, et al.).  This will be the promised print collection of stand-alone electronic chapbooks that came out last year under the “Misfit Stories” aegis, hopefully to be out “in both large format trade paperback and hardcover for libraries” in time for Thanksgiving.

It’s coming!  It’s coming!  It’s ZIPPERED FLESH 3: YET MORE TALES OF BODY ENHANCEMENT GONE BAD (see July 18, June 19, et al.) and the book itself is scheduled for release by Smart Rhino Publications this October.  But now, for a sneak peek, Paul Dale Anderson has published an early review, including brief appetite whetting descriptions of all the stories.  Mine, “Golden Age,” is the one at the very, very end, a sort of look at the past and the future and perhaps more leisurely than some of the others, science-fictiony, maybe, more than horror, but stories for all tastes appear to be therein.  For more, one may press here.

And lest we forget, another tale of mine, “Flesh,” will be coming out in YEAR’S BEST BODY HORROR 2017 (cf. June 19, May 8), tentatively in late September from Gehenna & Hinnom, this one perhaps a little bit more on the surreal side.  Both stories, I should add, are reprints, with “Golden Age” originally published in MINDSPARKS for Spring 1994 and “Flesh” in MAELSTROM SPECULATIVE FICTION, Spring 1999.
